The weather was beautiful and the stars made a terrific backdrop to the glow of the radio as contact after contact rolled from the speaker. The food was great, and the camaraderie outstanding. We used 1 transmitter and made contacts on just 80 and 40 meters. We could have easily worked more than 1,000 stations during the event if we had prepared antennas for additional bands. Since we only worked 80 meters (382 contacts) and 40 meters (481 contacts), we did not work all the western sections (working additional sections for Field Day doesn't count for multipliers, but it is fun). We did work every section east of the Mississippi except for NL.

The 2005 Field Day will be the 4th full weekend in June, the 25th & 26th.  Please mark your calendars NOW and plan to operate with us. We want to set up two transmitters next year with antennas for additional bands. Along with other advantages this will allow for a VHF station under the 2A category. Our goal is to make at least 1,000 contacts.  If propagation is anything like this year, and with two stations running at the same time, that goal will be easily attainable.

We know this wound up being very short notice this year, and some who expressed interest earlier weren't able to make it. You were certainly missed, and we look forward to your company in 2005! My thanks to everyone who shared in NEMARC's 2004 Field Day. We turned in a good score, and, most importantly, had a really good time!
